Jeannie DeChant // Jeannie, married to Greg. Step-daughters Michele, Jessie and Gabrielle. There are also 5 grandkids and one Great-Grand son. We have two Shi-zues Snickers and Taz also four cats; Ziggy, KoKo, Smokey and Buddy. One of the cats was from a litter the rest are strays that we rescued from the street. Enjoy all types of Christian music with my favorite being Third Day but I also like Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, Kutless, Jars of Clay and so all and so on. We have been to the Gospel Music awards in Nashville in 2006 and hope to go back again this spring. I work as a dispatcher for the local transit and drive when needed. I have worked at this job for almost ten years. Currently going to the local technical college with the hope of getting an associates degree in accounting. My hobbies are counted cross stitch, reading, going for walks, going to concerts, and spending way to much time on the computer. I have a group of friends that I stay in touch with through twitter. Some of these people I have met and others I look forward to meeting someday.
Reading everyone’s list caused me to start thinking about what kind of list I would make so here you go. 1: I am the oldest of six children and each of our names start with ” J”, Jeannie, Junior, Jeff, Jane, Jay and Jim. 2: Neither of my parents graduated from high school but they never gave any of us the option of not completing school. We all graduated and a couple of us went on to college. 3: I have been in love with books since I learned how to read. Books have always been my companion in life. Went I went to college I studied English Literature because it was something that I enjoyed. 4: I have always been a crafty person. Learned how to do embroidery from my Grandmother and how to knit and crochet in high school. Right now my favorite craft is counted cross stitch. 5: I believe that Chocolate is a food group in its self. 6: My favorite seasons are spring and fall. I think these are the times when God has the most fun changing the world. 7: I am glad that my parents divorced. My mother deserved a better life then the one that she had with my father. 8: I collect Madame Alexander dolls. My brother bought me my first one when we were still in high school. I have never outgrown dolls. 9: I hate exercise but love to go for walks. Something that I need to start again! 10: Love to watch silent movies. Charlie Chaplin is amazing. 11: I walked away from God as a teenager because of the world that I knew growing up. My Mother turned to God and I walked away. I even labeled myself as atheist for a long time. 12: I love to watch old musicals. Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and any other musical 13: I am one of those people who need eight hours of sleep every day. I can’t function if I miss too much sleep. 14: My eyes are brown until I get upset about something and they turn green. 15: I don’t watch the news very often. The negativity of it wears me down. 16: My first job was at K-Mart in the sporting goods department. I am the most un-sports person around. 17: I am a realist but with an optimistic turn. I try to stay positive about things but I understand that may not always be true. 18: Landmark birthdays haven’t bothered me until I hit fifty. Thirty was a piece of cake and forty no problem. I made up for it when I hit the big five-o. 19: Used to color my hair but stopped because it kept turning all these strange colors. Some of the reactions were funny, admiration to fear. 20: My favorite color used to be Blue but I get older I am going more for red with a real love of pink. I think the girl in me is coming out. 21: I have been a Star Trek fanatic from the moment it came on. I have watched all of the television shows, movies, and cartoons based on Star Trek. Wanted to go to a convention but couldn’t because of work. 22: My first love was Davey Jones of the Monkees in grade school. 23: Used to stay up half the night watching black & white B horror movies. The Giant Claw, House on Haunted Hill and all the Vincent Price movies are classics in my book. I lived for Chiller Theatre on the weekend. 24: My favorite books are A Brave New World and a Catcher in The Rye. 24 My favorite movies are The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Day the Earth Stood Still, My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz and The King and I |

I still remember the first time I drove for the Marion Area Transit; in fact, it was just ten years ago, November 24. Driving a passenger bus required a clean driving record and that I upgrade my license to a class C commercial driver's license. Because of this I had to take test that showed my understanding of maneuverability, driving safety and transporting passengers. The first bus that I drove could handle about twelve people, but now I drive one that can transport twice that number. There have been many challenges in driving such as learning the names of the streets, avoiding accidents, and learning to provide good customer service while driving. Yet the rewards have been many; I have made friends, cooed over babies and had lots of fun. When I recall how frightened I was when first approached about driving a transit bus, I’m still glad I made the change. |

My recent purchase on e-bay was this poster which dates back to my first Third Day concert. The show took place in Dayton, Ohio on March 17, 2001. The concert also featured Kendal Payne and Lincoln Brewster. I was hooked! My Sunday school class got together to go to the show. I remember that we did not plan well and got there just as the show was getting ready to start and the place was packed! Because of that we ended up sitting in the balcony, which didn’t allow us to see well. Didn’t really manner that we had to move around to even be able to see the stage, the music was amazing. They played one of my favorite songs, “Your Love Oh Lord” which I still listen for when I go to a concert. I had only been a Christian for a very short time and things such as this strengthened my daily walk. This was my second Christian concert the first had been just months before when we got to see Newsboys with Sonicflood and Bean Bag. I am so glad to say that these may have been the first two of many shows that I have been fortunate enough to attend over the years. The first concert my husband and saw together was Third Day when we traveled to see them at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, on Thursday November 18, 2004. He is just as hooked now as I am. On November 8, we will be going to see Third Day once again in what will be my seventeenth show in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Greg and I went to see this movie this evening and I most recommend it to everyone. The theater was packed full of people who applauded at the end of the move. It was nice to see a movie that dealt with the world from a Christian prospective with humor and honesty.Kirk Cameron played the lead as Caleb Holt and I must admit did a great job in the movie. My only problem with the movie was that at times I felt that it was a little heavy handed on the preaching. Which led to a discussion about how to best present the gospel to non believers which of course is something that is a concern to Christians. At times the acting is a bit on the stiff side but at the end of the movie you are cheering for the couple. Greg and I left holding hands having enjoyed the movie but also caused us to look at our marriage. The movie will give couples the chance to discuss their own marriage as you think about how this movie affects you. Of course the music is a key factor we love to listen to Christian music and it plays a key role in this film. There are two songs from our favorite band Third Day featured in the film. |

| This is Greg and I once again with Third Day, at the Meet and Greet, Blossom Music Center. You will also notice two lovely ladies, they are Cindy and Terry. Friends that we have made because of Third Day. The show was part of the Music Builds Tour during which we also got to see Jars of Clay, Robert Randolf Family Band, Switchfoot and Third Day. The show was amazing!! |
March 2006, Nashville, Tn The first time that Greg and I got to meet Third Day. It was also a chance to meet some other cool people known as Gomers. That week we went to a concert, Gospel Music awards and of course the Gomer gathering. |
